Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the operating handle. Refer to Endgate Handle Replacement .

  2. Object Number: 264350  Size: SH
  3. Lower and support the endgate (3).
  4. Lift the cables off the striker bolts (8).

  5. Remove the three bolts holding the latch assembly (4) to the endgate.
  6. Remove the latch assembly and the rod (5).

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 264359  Size: SH
  1. Install the latch assembly and the rod to the endgate.
  2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the three bolts that hold the latch assembly (4) to the endgate.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the latch to endgate bolts to 30 N·m (22 lb ft).

  5. Raise the endgate.
  6. Attach the cables to the striker bolts.

  7. Install the operating handle. Refer to Endgate Handle Replacement .
