Endgate Lock Striker Replacement Pickup

Removal Procedure

  1. Lower the endgate to a support.

    2. Lift the cables off the striker bolts.

  2. Remove the striker and the cable bolt (5).
  3. Remove the striker bolt.
  4. Remove the striker (1).

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 264355 Size: SH
  1. Install the striker (1) to the side panel.

    2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  2. Install the striker bolt (6).

    3. Tighten
    Tighten the striker bolt to 30 N·m (22 lb ft).

  3. Install the striker and the cable bolt.

    4. Tighten
    Tighten the striker and the cable bolt to 30 N·m (22 lb ft).

  4. Raise the endgate.

    5. Attach the cables to the striker bolts.

Endgate Lock Striker Replacement Utility Adjustment

  1. Loosen the striker bolt.
  2. Move the assemblies up or down, forward or backward, in order to obtain the proper close of the endgate.

    3. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Ensure that the endgate seals completely with the minimum closing effort.

    4. Tighten
    Tighten the striker assemblies to 63 N·m (47 lb ft).
