Circuit Description

The EBCM controls ABS indicator illumination by supplying ground to the ABS indicator failure control circuit. The ABS indicator failure control circuit has a feedback path to the EBCM microprocessor. The feedback voltage is low when the indicator is commanded on.

Conditions for Running the DTC

The ignition is ON.

Conditions for Setting the DTC

The ABS indicator failure control circuit feedback voltage is high when the ABS indicator is commanded on.

Action Taken When the DTC Sets

If an ABS disabling DTC sets, the EBCM illuminates the BRAKE indicator.

Conditions for Clearing the DTC

    • Repair the condition(s) responsible for setting the DTC.
    • Use a scan tool in order to clear the DTC.

Diagnostic Aids

Thoroughly inspect connections or circuitry that may cause an intermittent malfunction. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections , Connector Repairs and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.
