Front Pipe Replacement System B6.0L

Removal Procedure

  1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.
  2. Remove the protective shields as necessary.
  3. Remove the rear exhaust system. Refer to Rear Exhaust System Replacement .

  4. Object Number: 160895  Size: SH
  5. Remove the catalytic convertor. Refer to Catalytic Converter Replacement .
  6. Disconnect the electrical connector from the oxygen sensor.

  7. Object Number: 344280  Size: SH
  8. Remove the nuts (3) at the exhaust manifold.

  9. Object Number: 344263  Size: SH
  10. Remove the front pipe from the exhaust hanger bracket.
  11. Remove the front pipe.
  12. Remove the exhaust seal (1) and discard.

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the new exhaust seal (1) to the exhaust manifold.

  2. Object Number: 344263  Size: SH
  3. Install the front pipe.
  4. Install the front pipe to the exhaust hanger bracket.

  5. Object Number: 344280  Size: SH

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  6. Install the nuts (3) to the exhaust manifold.
  7. Tighten
    Tighten the exhaust manifold nuts to 50 N·m (39 lb ft).

  8. Connect the electrical connector to the oxygen sensor.
  9. Install the catalytic convertor. Refer to Catalytic Converter Replacement .
  10. Install the rear exhaust system. Refer to Rear Exhaust System Replacement .
  11. Install the protective shields as necessary.
  12. Remove the safety stands.
  13. Lower the vehicle.
