Fuel Hose/Pipes Assembly Replacement Rear Pipes

Removal Procedure

Tool Required

    Object Number: 300138  Size: SH

    Caution: Unless directed otherwise, the ignition and start switch must be in the OFF or LOCK position, and all electrical loads must be OFF before servicing any electrical component. Disconnect the negative battery cable to prevent an electrical spark should a tool or equipment come in contact with an exposed electrical terminal. Failure to follow these precautions may result in personal injury and/or damage to the vehicle or its components.

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2. Relieve the fuel system pressure. Refer to the Fuel Pressure Relief Procedure .
  3. Drain the fuel tank. Refer to Fuel Tank Draining Procedure .
  4. Raise the vehicle.
  5. Clean all fuel and EVAP pipe and hose connections and the surrounding areas before disconnecting in order to avoid possible contamination of the fuel system.
  6. Remove the fuel tank. Refer to Fuel Tank Replacement .

  8. Remove the rear fuel feed pipe (4) and the rear fuel return pipe (5) from the fuel sender (2) and the fuel tank clips (6).
  9. Remove the rear EVAP pipe (1) from the fuel sender (2), the fuel tank roll over valve (3) and the fuel tank clips (6).

  11. Disconnect the EVAP pipe (3) at the EVAP vent valve (2).
  12. Remove the EVAP pipe from the crossmember clips (1).
  13. Remove the EVAP vent valve to canister pipe.
  14. Cap the fuel and EVAP pipes in order to prevent possible fuel system contamination.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 385856  Size: SH
  1. Remove the caps from the fuel and EVAP pipes.
  2. Connect the EVAP pipe (3) to the EVAP vent valve (2).
  3. Install the EVAP pipe into the crossmember clips (1).

  4. Object Number: 396067  Size: SH
  5. Connect the rear EVAP pipe (1) to the fuel sender (2), the fuel tank roll over valve (3) and the fuel tank clips (6).
  6. Connect the rear fuel feed pipe (4) and the rear fuel return pipe (5) to the fuel sender (2) and the fuel tank clips (6).

  8. Install the fuel tank. Refer to Fuel Tank Replacement .
  9. Lower the vehicle.
  10. Refill the fuel tank.
  11. Connect the negative battery cable.
  12. Tighten the fuel filler cap.
  13. Inspect for leaks.
  14. 11.1. Turn the ignition switch ON for 2 seconds.
    11.2. Turn the ignition switch OFF for 10 seconds.
    11.3. Turn the ignition switch ON.
    11.4. Inspect for fuel leaks.
  15. Perform a visual inspection of the fuel pipes in order to ensure that there is no kinking or misalignment of the fuel pipes.
