Caution: Unless directed otherwise, the ignition and start switch must be in the OFF or LOCK position, and all electrical loads must be OFF before servicing any electrical component. Disconnect the negative battery cable to prevent an electrical spark should a tool or equipment come in contact with an exposed electrical terminal. Failure to follow these precautions may result in personal injury and/or damage to the vehicle or its components.

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2. Remove the engine sight shield.

  3. Object Number: 300360 Size: SH
  4. Relieve the fuel system pressure. Refer to the Fuel Pressure Relief Procedure .
  5. Disconnect the fuel feed pipe (1) and the fuel return pipe (2) from the fuel rail.

  6. Object Number: 350543 Size: SH
  7. Remove the fuel return pipe attaching screw (3) and the fuel return pipe retainer (2).
  8. Remove the fuel return pipe (1).
  9. Remove the fuel return pipe O-ring (6).
  10. Remove the fuel pressure connection core assembly (24) from the crossover pipe (25).
  11. Remove the retainer clip attaching screw (22) and the crossover fuel pipe to right fuel rail retainer clip (21).
  12. Remove the retainer clip attaching screw (4) and the crossover fuel pipe to left fuel rail retainer clip (5).
  13. Remove the crossover pipe (25) from the left fuel rail (14) and the right fuel rail (15).
  14. Remove the crossover fuel pipe O-rings (7,20).
  15. Discard the O-rings (6,7,20).

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 350543 Size: SH
  1. Lubricate the new crossover fuel pipe O-rings (7,20) with clean engine oil.
  2. Install the crossover fuel pipe O-rings (7,20) on the crossover pipe (25).
  3. Install the crossover pipe (25) to the left fuel rail (14) and the right fuel rail (15).
  4. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  5. Install the crossover fuel pipe to right fuel rail retainer clip (21). Loosely install the retainer clip attaching screw (22)
  6. Lubricate the new fuel return pipe O-ring (6) with clean engine oil.
  7. Install the fuel return pipe O-ring (6) on the fuel return pipe (1).
  8. Install the fuel return pipe (1) to the left fuel rail (14).
  9. Install the fuel return pipe retainer (2). Loosely install the fuel return pipe attaching screw (3).
  10. Install the crossover fuel pipe to left fuel rail retainer clip (5). Loosely install the retainer clip attaching screw (4)
  11. Tighten

    1. Tighten the crossover fuel pipe retainer clip attaching screws (4,22) to 3.8 N·m (34 lb in).
    2. Tighten the fuel return pipe attaching screw (3) to 5 N·m (44 lb in).
  12. Install the fuel pressure connection core assembly (24) to the crossover pipe (25).

  13. Object Number: 300360 Size: SH
  14. Connect the fuel return pipe (2) and the fuel feed pipe (1) to the fuel rail.
  15. Tighten the fuel filler cap.
  16. Connect the negative battery cable.
