Important: When asked to probe connectors, bussed electrical centers or components, always use the J 35616-A connector adapter kit, never back probe the electrical connector of the shock. Take care when probing shock absorber to observe polarity, reversing polarity can cause internal component damage.

The selectable ride (SR) suspension system allows the driver to choose between 2 distinct damping levels within the shock absorbers in order to alter the ride characteristics of the vehicle.

The SR dampers are gas charged units which provide damping by forcing hydraulic fluid through internal orifices in order to resist suspension movement. Each unit contains an internal solenoid actuator that the SR switch controls. Voltage is supplied to the switch via CKT 739 from the SEO IGN fuse. When the system is on, the voltage is supplied to terminal A of the shock(s) providing firmer damping levels. Ground is supplied to terminal B of each unit. Ground for the front shocks is G302. Ground for the rear is G401.
