Removal Procedure
- Remove the left headlamp assembly. Refer to Headlamp Replacement in Lighting Systems.
- Remove the grille. Refer to Grille Replacement in Exterior Trim.
- Remove the hood latch cable from the left headlamp support bracket.
- Remove the left headlamp support bracket screws.
- Remove the left headlamp support bracket.
- Remove the power steering cooler hose (4) from the power steering pump (1).
- Remove the power steering cooler hose (2) from the steering gear (3).
- Remove the power steering cooler mounting bolts (1).
- Remove the power steering cooler from the vehicle (2).
Installation Procedure
- Install the power steering cooler (2) to the vehicle.
- Install the power steering cooler mounting bolts (1).
- Install the power steering cooler hose (2) to the steering gear (3).
- Install the power steering cooler hose (4) to the power steering pump (1).
- Install the left headlamp support bracket.
- Install the left headlamp support bracket screws.
- Install the hood latch cable to the left headlamp support bracket.
- Install the grille. Refer to Grille Replacement in Exterior Trim.
- Install the left headlamp assembly. Refer to Headlamp Replacement in Lighting Systems.
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
Tighten
Tighten the mounting bolts to 9 N·m (80 lb ft).
