  1. Turn the ignition ON with the engine OFF.
  2. Ensure the foglamp switch is in the OFF position.
  3. Connect a scan tool.
  4. Using the scan tool, test for any DTCs in the body control module (BCM).

Does the scan tool show any DTCs?

Turn the park lamps and the headlamps ON then OFF.

Do the exterior lamps operate properly?

Go to Step 3

Go to Low and High Beams Headlamps Inoperative for Headlamps or Park Lamps Inoperative for Parklamps

Using a scan tool, read the front foglamp switch status.

Does the scan tool show the switch status ON?

Go to Step 4

  1. Disconnect the foglamp switch.
  2. Using a scan tool, read the front foglamp switch status.

Does the scan tool show the switch status ON?

Go to Step 6

Replace the fog lamp switch. Refer to Fog Lamp Switch Replacement .

Is the repair complete?

System OK

Locate and repair the short to ground in CKT 192 (ORN) between the BCM and the switch.

If no short is found, replace the BCM. Refer to Body Control Module Replacement in Body Control Systems.

Is the repair complete?

Remove the FOG LP relay.

Do the foglamps turn OFF?

Go to Step 8

Replace the FOG LP relay.

Is the replacement complete?

Locate and repair the short to voltage in CKT 34 (PPL).

Is the repair complete?
