  1. Turn the ignition OFF.
  2. Connect a scan tool.
  3. Turn the ignition to the ON position.
  4. Using the scan tool, inspect for any DTCs in the body control module (BCM).

Does the scan tool show any DTCs?

Go to Diagnostic System Check - Body Control System in Body Control System.

Go to Step  2

  1. Turn the Ignition OFF.
  2. Disconnect the radio.
  3. Turn the ignition to the ON position.
  4. Place the headlamp switch in PARK.
  5. Using a J 39200 digital multimeter (DMM) , measure the voltage from CKT 1382 (PPL/WHT) at the radio to ground.

Is the voltage withing the specified range?

10-13 V

Go to Step  3

Go to Step  4

  1. Remove the radio. Refer to Radio Replacement .
  2. Send the radio in for repair.

Is the repair complete?

System OK

  1. Locate and repair the open in CKT 1382 (PPL/WHT) between the radio connector and the BCM.
  2. If no open is found replace BCM. Refer to Body Control Module Replacement in Body Control System.
