Important:

    • Inspect the condition of the body control module (BCM), Ign 1, cruise fuse and park lamp fuses (located in the Left Bussed Electrical Center LBEC and Mid Bussed Electrical Center MBEC). If any fuse is open, replace the fuse and retest system for intermittent fuse failure. If the fuse continues to fail locate and repair the source of overload. Refer to Power Distribution Schematics.
    • Inspect in order to make sure that Ground G203 and G304 are clean and tight.
    • This diagnostic table assumes that all other chimes, turn signals and turn signal indicators operate properly.

  1. Turn ON the ignition.
  2. Using a scan tool, read the BCM input data while operating the left and the right turn signals.

Does the scan tool read ON or OFF?

ON/OFF

  1. Raise and properly support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.
  2. Start the engine.
  3. Place the transmission in drive.
  4. Read the vehicle speed of greater than16 Km/h (10 mph) for a minimum of 1.6 Km (1.0 miles).

Does scan tool read specific value?

Replace the BCM. Refer to Body Control Module Replacement in Body Control Systems.

Locate and repair the open in CKT 14 (LT BLU left) or CKT 15 (DK BLU right) between the BCM and the mid bussed electrical center (MBEC).

Shift the scan tool display to read the powertrain control module (PCM)/vehicle control module (VCM) DTCs.

Does the scan tool read DTC P0500 or DTC P0608?

Go to appropriate DTC

Go to Step 6

Locate and repair the open or short to ground in CKT 817 (DK GRN/WHT) between the PCM/VCM and the BCM.

Is the repair complete?
