Was the instrument panel cluster (IPC) system check performed?

  1. Turn ignition switch to the OFF position.
  2. Disconnect the cluster connector and remove the connector combs.
  3. Turn the ignition switch to the RUN position.
  4. With a test lamp, backprobe (to prevent damage to the terminal) between the PNK (39) wire cavity B6 and ground.

Does the test lamp light?

 

Go to Step 3

With a test lamp, backprobe (to prevent damage to the terminal) between the PNK (39) wire cavity B6 and the BLK/WHT (451) wire cavity A8.

Does the test lamp light?

 

Go to Step 4

With a test lamp, backprobe (to prevent damage to the terminal) between the BRN (41) wire cavity A4 and ground.

Does the test lamp light?

 

Go to Step 8

Go to Step 5

Locate and repair the open in the BRN (41) wire between the cluster and the CRUISE fuse located in the LBEC.

Is the repair complete?

Locate and repair the open in the BLK/WHT (451) wire between the cluster and the ground G103.

Is the repair complete?

Locate and repair the open in the PNK (39) wire between the cluster and the MID bussed electrical center (MBEC).

Is the repair complete?

Replace the instrument cluster.
