  1. Disconnect the front axle actuator/switch.
  2. Ensure the four wheel drive (4WD) control lever is in the 4WD position.
  3. Turn the ignition ON.
  4. Turn the engine OFF.
  5. Connect a test lamp from terminal C (BRN wire) to ground.

Does the test lamp light?

Go to Step 3

Locate and repair the open in CKT 241 (BRN) between the underhood bussed electrical center and the front axle actuator/switch.

Is the repair complete?

System OK

Connect a self-powered test lamp from terminal E (BLK wire) to ground.

Does the test light?

--

Go to Step 5

Go to Step 4

Locate and repair the open in CKT 2150 (BLK).

Is the repair complete?

--

System OK

Connect a self-powered test lamp from terminal B (LT BLU wire) to ground.

Does the test light?

--

Go to Step 6

Go to Step 7

Replace the front axle actuator/switch. Refer to Electric Motor Actuator Replacement .

Is the repair complete?

  1. Disconnect the transfer case switch.
  2. Connect a self-powered test lamp from terminal A (BLK wire) of the transfer case switch to ground.

Does the test lamp light?

--

Go to Step 9

Go to Step 8

Locate and repair the open in CKT 2150 (BLK) between the switch and the ground.

Is the repair complete?

--

System OK

--

  1. Connect a jumper wire from terminal B (LT BLU wire) at the front axle actuator/switch to ground.
  2. Connect a self-powered test lamp from terminal C (LT BLU wire) at the transfer case switch to ground.

Does the test light?

--

Go to Step 10

Go to Step 11

Replace the transfer case switch.

Is the repair complete?

--

System OK

Locate and repair the open in CKT 1296 (LT BLU) between the switch and the actuator.

Is the repair complete?
