Roof Panel Joint Finish Molding Replacement Standard Cab
Removal Procedure
Tools Required
J 25070 Heat Gun
- Use the J 25070
in
order to heat the molding and the surrounding sheet metal to 82°-93°C
(180°-200°F).
- Remove the roof joint
molding.
• | Use a flat bladed tool in order to pry off the molding between
the sealer and the joint. Use pliers or a similar tool in order to handle
the hot molding and pull the molding loose. The molding and the sealer should
come off in 1 piece. |
• | Do not damage the paint on the cab. |
- Clean the joint in order to remove any remaining sealer. Sealer
could interfere with the fit of the replacement molding.
Installation Procedure

- Use the J 25070
in order to heat the cab in the joint
area. Preheat the sheet metal to approximately 93°C (200°F).
- Install the molding.
Preheat the sheet metal in order to melt the sealer and bond the molding
into the joint. Sealer begins to flow at approximately 93°C (200°F).
