Front Fender Replacement Right Side
Removal Procedure
Caution: Unless directed otherwise, the ignition and start switch must be in the OFF or LOCK position, and all electrical loads must be OFF before servicing
any electrical component. Disconnect the negative battery cable to prevent an electrical spark should a tool or equipment come in contact with an exposed electrical terminal. Failure to follow these precautions may result in personal injury and/or damage to
the vehicle or its components.
- Disconnect
the negative battery cable(s).
- Remove the right outboard
cowl vent grille trim piece.
- Remove the hood. Refer to
Hood Replacement
.
- Remove the right hood
spring assembly.
- Remove the fender to cowl
support brace, if equipped.
- Remove the right side
battery tray, if equipped. Refer to
Battery Tray Replacement
in Engine Electrical.
- Remove the wheelhouse panel bracket, if equipped.
- Remove the air filter housing. Refer to
Air Cleaner Assembly Replacement
or
Air Cleaner Assembly Replacement
in Engine Controls.
- Remove the coolant surge tank. Refer to
Radiator Surge Tank Replacement
in Engine Cooling.
- Remove the pushpins (2)
in order to detach the wheelhouse panel (1) from the fender (3).
- Remove the fender to upper
cowl bracket bolt.
- Open the door.
- Remove the fender to door
hinge bolts.
- Unfasten the right front
grille clip from the fender.
- Remove the fender to radiator
support bolts.
- Remove the rear lower
fender bolt.
- Remove the right fender from the vehicle.
Installation Procedure
- Position the fender to vehicle.
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners
must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring
replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant
are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or
corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.
These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage
the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when
installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
- Install the rear
lower fender bolt.
Tighten
Tighten the bolt to 25 N·m (18 lb ft).
- Install the fender to
radiator support bolts.
Tighten
Tighten the bolts to 25 N·m (18 lb ft).
- Fasten the right front
grille clip to the fender.
- Install the fender to
door hinge bolts.
Tighten
Tighten the bolts to 25 N·m (18 lb ft).
- Install the fender to
upper cowl bracket bolt.
Tighten
Tighten the bolt to 25 N·m (18 lb ft).
- Install the pushpins (2)
in order to attach the wheelhouse panel (1) to the fender (3).
- Install the wheelhouse
panel bracket, if equipped.
Tighten
• | Tighten the bracket nuts to 25 N·m (18 lb ft). |
• | Tighten the bracket bolts to 9 N·m 807 lb in). |
- Install the right side battery tray, if equipped. Refer to
Battery Tray Replacement
in Engine Electrical.
- Install the coolant surge tank. Refer to
Radiator Surge Tank Replacement
in Engine Cooling.
- Install the air filter housing. Refer to
Air Cleaner Assembly Replacement
or
Air Cleaner Assembly Replacement
in Engine Controls.
- Install the right fender
to cowl support brace, if equipped.
Tighten
Tighten the brace bolts to 9 N·m (80 lb in).
- Install the right hood
spring assembly.
Tighten
Tighten the bolt to 25 N·m (18 lb ft).
- Install the hood. Refer to
Hood Replacement
.
- Install the right outboard
cowl vent grille trim piece.
- Connect the negative battery cable(s).
Front Fender Replacement Left Side
Removal Procedure

vent grille trim piece.
- Remove the hood. Refer to
Hood Replacement
in Body Front End.
- Remove the left hood spring
assembly.
- Remove the left fender
to cowl support brace.
- Remove the wheelhouse
panel bracket.
- Remove the battery tray. Refer to
Battery Tray Replacement
in Engine Electrical.
- Disconnect the hood latch
release cable from the clips.
- Disconnect the windshield washer hose.
- Remove the underhood bussed electrical connector (UBEC). Refer
to
Underhood Fuse Block Replacement
in Engine Electrical.
- Remove the pushpins (2)
to detach the wheelhouse panel (1) from the fender (3).
- Remove the fender to upper
cowl bracket bolt.
- Open the door.
- Remove the fender to door
hinge bolts.
- Unfasten the left front
grille clip from the fender.
- Remove the fender to radiator
support bolts and retainer.
- Remove the rear lower
fender bolt.
- Remove the left fender from the vehicle.
Installation Procedure

- Connect the left front
grille clip to the fender.
- Install the fender to
door hinge bolts.
Tighten
Tighten the bolts to 25 N·m (18 lb ft).
- Install the fender to
upper cowl bracket bolt.
Tighten
Tighten the bolts to 25 N·m (18 lb ft).
- Install the pushpins (2)
to attach the wheelhouse panel (1) to the fender (3).
- Install the Underhood Bussed Electrical Connector (UBEC). Refer
to
Underhood Fuse Block Replacement
in Engine Electrical.
- Connect the windshield washer hose to the clips.
- Connect the hood latch
release cable to the clips.
- Install the battery tray. Refer to
Battery Tray Replacement
in Engine Electrical.
- Install the wheelhouse
panel bracket.
Tighten
• | Tighten the wheelhouse bracket nuts and bolts to 25 N·m
(18 lb ft). |
• | Tighten the wheelhouse bracket nuts and bolts to 9 N·m
(80 lb in). |
- Install the left fender
to cowl support brace.
Tighten
Tighten the brace bolts to 9 N·m (80 lb in).
- Install the left hood
spring assembly.
Tighten
Tighten the bolt to 25 N·m (18 lb ft).
- Install the hood. Refer to
Hood Replacement
.
- Install the left outboard
cowl vent grille trim piece.
- Connect the negative battery cable (s).
