Condition

Some owners may comment about a vibration that occurs when the third door is opened.

Cause

The condition may be caused by the door not being located properly at the hinge weld area causing a ramping condition between the latch and the striker.

Correction

Adjust the upper and lower door strikers. Use the following procedure in order to properly align the door to the body.

  1. Remove the trim cover from the upper striker.
  2. Loosen the upper striker mounting bolts.
  3. Loosen the lower striker mounting bolts.
  4. Adjust the door as necessary.
  5. Tighten
    Tighten the upper and lower striker mounting bolts to 24 N·m (18 lb ft).

  6. Install the trim cover onto the upper striker.
