Some owners may comment about a rattle type noise coming from the driver's or passenger's front side door. This condition is most often heard when the door window is in the full down position while closing the door.
A window stabilizer bracket has been developed to correct this condition. Install the stabilizer bracket on affected vehicles. Use the following procedure and the part numbers listed below.
Important: Prior to drilling the holes, raise the door glass to the full up position.
5.1. | Drill the upper hole at the marked location using a 4 mm (3/16 in) bit. |
5.2. | Drill the lower hole at the marked location using a 4 mm (3/16 in) bit. |
5.3. | Create the slot portion between the holes using either of the following tools: |
- | A die grinder |
- | A saber saw |
- | A cut off wheel |
- | Any other suitable tool |
Important: After drilling the holes, apply the appropriate anti-corrosion primer. Refer to the GM Refinish Material Booklet #4901M-D-99 (English) or #4901M-D-F99 (French) for additional information.
