Removal Procedure

  1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.

  2. Object Number: 622091  Size: SH

    Important: Clean the components and the surrounding area to prevent dirt from entering the air system before disconnecting the air hose from the air compressor.

  3. Disconnect the air tube from the air dryer.
  4. Disconnect the electrical connection .

  6. Remove the air inlet and hose from the frame.

  7. Object Number: 608811  Size: SH
  8. Loosen the mounting nuts.
  9. Slide the air compressor rearward to clear the frame slots.
  10. Remove the air compressor.

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the air compressor.
  2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Slide the air compressor forward to secure the fasteners into the frame slots and tighten the mounting nuts.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the nuts to 25 N·m (18 lb ft).

  5. Install the air inlet and hose to the frame.

  7. Connect the air tube to the air dryer.
  8. Connect the electrical connection .
  9. Important: Before driving the vehicle, turn the ignition on and wait approximately 45 seconds. This will ensure that the air adjustable shock absorbers are filled with residual pressure.

  10. Lower the vehicle.
