During the 2000 and 2001 model year, two different designs of Engine Oil Indicator and Engine Oil Indicator Tubes were used in production vehicles.
Each Engine Oil Indicator must be used with the correct Engine Oil Indicator Tube. Incorrect engine oil levels will be indicated if an Engine Oil Indicator is used with the wrong Engine Oil Indicator Tube.
In some instances, the Check Engine Oil Level message may be displayed when the engine oil level is 1 quart (aprox. 0.95 Liters) low. Do not replace the engine oil level sensor for this condition.
