Subject: | Service VME -- Suspension Noises |
Models: | SERVICE VME |
When servicing the vehicle with the VIN you entered, the following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the described symptoms.
Customer may comment about unusual suspensions noise coming from the truck. A possible cause may be improperly attached stone shields behind the rear wheel well causing a condition which could easily be mistaken for suspension noises. Assembly plants have noted instances where both J-nuts on the stone shields were cross threaded. Cross threading the J -nuts /bolts can result in the stone shield being improperly attached and cause an "unusual " noise. A more robust fastening bolt is being developed for plant installation.
