Service VME - Six Disc CD Player (UC6) - Product Update

When servicing the vehicle with the VIN you entered, the following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the described symptoms.

This is to advise you of an incorrect statement in the 2003 GMC Sierra Full Line Brouchure on pages 30 and 34 which indicates that the AM/FM radio with intergal CD Player ( RPO UC6 ) includes an "auto-reverse cassette " available with SLE and SLT trim levels.

The Sierra Denali is the only Sierra that will include a cassette in the "head unit " with a separate six disc changer. All other Sierra models in uplevel trim ( SLE/SLT ) that have UC6 receive a "head unit " in the dash in which all six discs can be loaded. There is no cassette player that comes with UC6 on any model.

Please follow this diagnosis process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed. If these steps do not resolve the condition, please contact GM TAC for further diagnostic assistance. This diagnostic approach was developed for the vehicle with the VIN you entered and should not be automatically be used for other vehicles with similar symptoms.
