Equipped with the 6.6L (RPO- LBZ) Diesel Engine



The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.

Condition/Concern:

A rattle or buzz noise may be heard from the engine compartment. The noise will be heard off idle and diagnostics may lead to a noise coming from the turbo area. Vehicles built between 1/3/06 and 1/13/06 may have a turbo heat shield weld broken.

Recommendation/Instructions:

If diagnostics have led to a turbo heat shield rattle noise, replace only the turbo heat shield for repair.

Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
