TORQUE CONVERTER STATOR SHAFT NEW KIT RELEASED

SUBJECT: TORQUE CONVERTER STATOR SHAFT

MODELS: 1982 C6D042 AND C7D042 WITH 8.2L DDAD ENGINE AND AT545 ALLISON TRANSMISSION

For vehicles within the VIN range 1GDK6D1F1CV565152 thru 1GDK7D1F8CV570684, a new stator shaft kit P/N 23014304 is now available from DDAD distributors. In the event that transmission removal, major transmission repair or engine removal is required on a subject vehicle, the following procedure should be included:

On AT545 transmissions, the new front support assembly can be identified by a dark discoloration of the opline that mates with the torque converter stator (See Figure No. 1). The stator shaft kit includes a new stator shaft with induction hardened spline - P/N 23014019, stator shaft bushing - P/N 8623075, roller bearing - P/N 148415 and should be installed per the enclosed instruction sheet.
