EFFECTIVE WITH SOP 1982, A RED DYE LEAK DETECTOR DYTEL* WAS INCORPORATED INTO PRODUCTION AIR CONDITIONING SYSTEMS. WITH DYTEL* IN THE SYSTEM, A BRIGHT RED COLOR (USUALLY OIL) WILL APPEAR AT THE POINT OF LEAKAGE. THE DYE IS SOLUBLE IN BOTH THE LIQUID REFRIGERANT AND IN THE COMPRESSOR OIL.
