WIPER BLADE CHATTER (REPLACE WIPER BLADES)

SUBJECT: WIPER BLADE CHATTER (REPLACE WIPER BLADES AND ARMS)

MODELS: 1988-94 CHEVROLET AND GMC TRUCK C/K MODELS 1990-94 TOPKICK/KODIAK MODELS

CONDITION:

SOME CUSTOMERS MAY COMMENT THAT THE WIPER BLADES CHATTER AGAINST THE WINDSHIELD.

CAUSE:

INSUFFICIENT PRESSURE OF THE BLADE TO THE WINDSHIELD.

CORRECTION:

TO CORRECT THIS CONDITION, REPLACE BOTH THE WIPER ARMS AND BLADES WITH THE REDESIGNED ARMS (P/N 22154888 (RH)/22154887 (LH)) THAT HAVE A MORE EFFICIENT ATTACK ANGLE AND BLADES (P/N 22154886) THAT CHANGED FROM A 4 POINT TO A 6 POINT SYSTEM. THE NEW BLADES WILL **NOT** FIT ON THE OLD WIPER ARMS; THEREFORE, BOTH WIPER ARMS AND BLADES MUST BE INSTALLED TO CORRECT THE CONDITION.

IMPORTANT: MAKE SURE THAT THE LEFT AND RIGHT HAND ARMS ARE ON THE CORRECT SIDE BECAUSE THE WRONG PARTS WILL CAUSE AN IMPROPER ANGLE OF ATTACK.

1. REMOVE THE LH AND RH WIPER BLADES AND ARMS. 2. INSTALL THE REDESIGNED ARMS WITH THE NEW ATTACK ANGLE (P/N 22154888(RH)/22154887(LH)).

NOTICE: MID-WAY UP THE BACK OF THE ARM WILL BE EITHER A LETTER L OR D (LEFT OR DRIVER) OR A R OR P (RIGHT OR PASSENGER). MAKE SURE THE PART IS ON THE CORRECT SIDE.

3. INSTALL THE REDESIGNED WIPER BLADES (P/N 22154886).

IMPORTANT: BOTH WIPER ARMS AND BLADES MUST BE CHANGED. THE NEW BLADES CANNOT BE INSTALLED ON THE CURRENT WIPER ARMS.
