INVOLVED ARE CERTAIN 1987 MEDIUM DUTY MODEL TRUCKS P4, P6, B6, C6, C7, AND J8 BRIGADIERS EQUIPPED WITH EATON REAR AXLES, MODELS 15040S (RPO H10), 19050 (RPO H11), 21065S (RPO H12), 23070S (RPO H13) WITH AXLE RATIOS 6.17, 6.50, OR 7.17 (RPOS 015, 017, 022) BUILT WITHIN THE FOLLOWING VIN BREAKPOINTS: GMC PLANT MODEL YEAR FROM THROUGH PONTIAC 1987 HV500001 HV512206 CHEVROLET PONTIAC HV101957 HV103586 THE SPECIFIC VEHICLES INVOLVED IN THIS CAMPAIGN HAVE BEEN IDENTIFIED BY VEHICLE IDENTIFICATION NUMBER COMPUTER LISTINGS. THESE LISTINGS ARE FURNISHED TO ALL INVOLVED DEALERS WITH THIS CAMPAIGN BULLETIN. DEALER CAMPAIGN RESPONSIBILITY DEALERS ARE TO SERVICE ALL VEHICLES SUBJECT TO THIS CAMPAIGN AT NO CHARGE TO OWNERS REGARDLESS OF MILEAGE, AGE OF VEHICLE, OR OWNERSHIP, FROM THIS TIME FORWARD. SHOULD AN AXLE OUTER PINION BEARING FAILURE OCCUR THE PROCEDURE FOR REPLACING THE OUTER PINION BEARINGS AND RELATED PARTS, IN ADDITION TO SETTING RING GEAR PATTERN, WILL BE FOUND IN EATON AXLES AND BRAKES SERVICE MANUAL, EA-48, JULY 1986. THIS MANUAL COVERS SINGLE DRIVE AXELS 15040S, 19050S, 21065S, 23070S, SINGLE REDUCTION. PARTS INFORMATION EATON CORPORATION'S HYPOID REPAIR KIT WILL BE SENT DIRECTLY TO INVOLVED DEALERS BY EATON CORPORATION AND WILL BE IDENTIFIED WITH A YELLOW CAMPAIGN LABEL. CONTENTS OF KIT (EATON PART NO. 122213): 1. ONE 1" 90 DEGREE STREET ELBOW OF STANDARD MALLEABLE IRON. THE MALE THREADS OF THE STREET ELBOW WILL BE COATED WITH VIBRA SEAL 516 TO ELIMINATE LEAKAGE.
