AN OVER-FILLED CRANKCASE MAY RESULT IN AN INCORRECT DIAGNOSIS OF OIL/FUEL DILUTION. THIS IS A REMINDER TO CHECK THE ENGINE OIL LEVELS, WHEN PERFORMING ENGINE OIL/FILTER CHANGES, TO PREVENT OVER-FILLING OR UNDER-FILLING THE CRANKCASE.
PLEASE NOTE THE FOLLOWING CAPACITIES WHEN COMPLETING AN ENGINE OIL/FILTER CHANGE. KEEP OIL LEVEL AS CLOSE AS POSSIBLE TO THE "F" FULL MARK WITHOUT OVER-FILLING. DO NOT OPERATE VEHICLE WITH THE OIL LEVEL BELOW THE "LOW" MARK.
TO PREVENT OVER-FILLING:
1. REFILL CRANKCASE WITH 14 QUARTS (13.2L) OF OIL. 2. CHECK ENGINE OIL LEVEL. 3. RUN ENGINE AND LET SIT FOR A MINIMUM OF FIVE (5) MINUTES. 4. CHECK OIL LEVEL AND ADD ACCORDINGLY.
MAXIMUM OIL CAPACITY OF A 6BG1-TC ENGINE INCLUDING FILTERS IS 15.5 QUARTS (14.7L).
