In cold weather conditions (i.e., less than - 20 degrees F), some affected vehicles may experience vapor freezing in the PCV system.
Install a 40 mm plastic PCV pipe (Part No. 8-97129-776-0) into the PCV intake duct on the air intake pipe, using the procedure described in this Service Bulletin.
Important: Some affected vehicles may have a factory-installed 30 mm plastic PCV pipe glued into the PCV intake duct. This 30 mm plastic PCV pipe must be removed from the PCV intake duct before installing the new 40 mm plastic PCV pipe. Follow the appropriate procedure below.
Important: Be sure to remove all plastic residue and old adhesive from the inside of the PCV intake duct to ensure proper bonding for the new 40 mm plastic PCV pipe.
Release the clip and disconnect the PCV hose from PCV intake duct air intake pipe.
