The air lines deliver the compressed air throughout the vehicle. The air lines are made from nylon tubing and wire braided hose. The nylon air lines are all standard 3/8, 1/2 and 5/8 inch diameter and 1/2 inch diameter for wire braided hoses. All nylon air lines use compression and push-in type fittings.

The nylon air lines are color coded for system identification.

    • Green -- Front system
    • Red -- Rear system
    • Orange -- Parking brake

Supporting Components

All the air line clips, the ties, the grommets and the supporting brackets must be maintained in order to prevent unnecessary vibrations and the loosening or separation of the connections. Check the air line routing and support components regularly. Nylon lines must not be routed near high heat sources such as the exhaust system.

The air line supports usually support other components. The support must be firmly mounted in position and the air lines must not be rubbing on the vehicle components.

The clamps and the band ties are used in many locations in order to support and protect the air lines. Use the band ties to hold clusters of air lines and cables where it is not possible to use clamps, brackets or supports.
