Fuel Manager/Filter Replacement EFI/MFI

Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the fuel tank filler cap.

  2. Object Number: 55489  Size: SH
  3. Remove the upper intake cover.

  4. Object Number: 55498  Size: SH
  5. Open the air bleed valve on the top of the fuel manager/filter in order to release any of the pressure in the fuel supply system.

  6. Object Number: 55513  Size: SH
  7. Remove the mounting bolts which attach the fuel manager/filter to the intake manifold.

  8. Object Number: 55514  Size: SH
  9. Disconnect the wiring harnesses and fuel hoses.
  10. Remove the fuel manager/filter by lifting straight up.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 55514  Size: SH
  1. Connect the fuel lines and the wiring harnesses to the assembly.
  2. Position the fuel manager/filter to the intake manifold.

  3. Object Number: 55513  Size: SH
  4. Install the fuel manager/filter mounting bolts.
  5. Tighten
    Tighten the mounting bolts to 25 N·m (18 lb ft).

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  6. Bleed air from the fuel manager/filter. Refer to Fuel Feed Pipe and Return Pipe Purging .
  7. Reinstall the fuel tank filler cap.
