Accelerator Control Cable Replacement MFI

1. Remove the engine cover (if necessary).



2. Remove the cable retainer clip from the throttle stud on the injection pump.
3. Squeeze the retaining tangs together on the cable casing and slide the cable out of the bracket.



4. Slide the control cable (1) through the slot (2) on the pedal linkage.
5. Squeeze the retaining tangs together on the cable casing and slide the cable out of the dash panel.

Important: The braided portion of the cable must not come in contact with the dash sealer during installation.

1. Insert the cable through the dash panel until the locking tangs have expanded.



2. Slide the control cable (1) through the slot (2) on the pedal linkage.
3. Install the cable through the engine bracket until the locking tangs have expanded.



4. Install the cable on the throttle stud.
5. Install the retainer clip on the stud with the tang securely over the stud.

Important: The linkage must operate freely without binding between closed and wide open throttle.

6. Check the linkage for binding.
7. Install the engine cover (if necessary).
