1. Remove the crankshaft balancer. Refer to Crankshaft Balancer Replacement .



2. Use a suitable prying tool in order to remove the crankshaft front oil seal.

Tools Required

J 35468 Cover Aligner and Seal Installer

Important: The engine front cover is a plastic composition.

1. Lubricate the exterior of the crankshaft front oil seal with clean engine oil.
2. Use the J 35468 with a hammer in order to install the crankshaft front oil seal.
3. Inspect the crankshaft front oil seal in order to ensure the crankshaft front oil seal is flush and square to the engine front cover.



4. Install the crankshaft balancer. Refer to Crankshaft Balancer Replacement .
