Removal Procedure

    Object Number: 188927 Size: SH
  1. Remove the upper fan shroud from the radiator. Refer to Fan Shroud Replacement in Engine Cooling.
  2. Remove the drive belt from the pulleys. Refer to Drive Belt Replacement .
  3. Remove the drive belt idler pulley from the engine.

    4. Object Number: 391682 Size: SH
  4. Remove the air conditioning idler pulley (for vehicle not equipped with A/C).

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 188927 Size: SH

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  1. Install the drive belt idler pulley to the mounting bracket.

    2. Tighten
    Tighten the bolt to 50 N·m (37 lb ft).

  2. Install the A/C idler pulley (non-A/C only) to the mounting bracket.

    3. Tighten
    Tighten the bolt to 50 N·m (37 lb ft).

  3. Install the drive belt to the vehicle. Refer to Drive Belt Replacement .
  4. Install the upper fan shrouds to the radiator. Refer to Fan Shroud Replacement in Engine Cooling.
