J 39200 Digital Multimeter
- Inspect the routing of the wires. Improper routing can cause crossfiring.
- Inspect each wire for any signs of cracks or splits in the wire.
- Inspect each boot for the following signs:
- If the boot needs to be replaced, twist the boot a half turn in
either direction in order to break the seal before pulling on the boot in
order to remove the wire.
Spark Plug Wire Resistance Check
- Disconnect both ends of each wire. Ensure the wire terminals are
clean.
- Set an ohmmeter on the high scale and connect the ohmmeter to
each end of the wire being tested. Twist the wire gently while watching the
ohmmeter.
- Replace the wire under the following conditions:
• | The ohmmeter reads above 30,000 ohms (no matter how long the wire
is) |
• | Fluctuates from infinity to any value |
