Idle Speed Adjustment MFI

1. Set the parking brake and block the drive wheels.

The engine must be at operating temperature with the air cleaner on and all accessories off.

2. Install J 26925 tachometer (or equivalent) per the manufacture's instructions.
3. Adjust the low idle speed screw (2) on the fuel injection pump to obtain the curb idle speed shown on the Emission Control Information Label.

2. Install J 26925 tachometer (or equivalent) per the manufacture's instructions.
3. Remove the connector from the fast idle solenoid.
4. Connect an insulated jumper wire from the battery positive terminal to the solenoid terminal. This will energize the solenoid.
5. Open the throttle momentarily to energize and fully extend the solenoid plunger (1).
6. Adjust the extended plunger by turning the hex head to obtain the fast idle speed on the Emission Control Information Label.
7. Remove the jumper wire and install the connector to the fast idle solenoid.
