Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 55498  Size: SH
  1. Remove the fuel tank filler cap.
  2. Open the air bleed valve on top of the fuel manager/filter in order to release any pressure in the fuel supply system.

  3. Object Number: 55513  Size: SH
  4. Remove the mounting bolts that connect the fuel manager/filter to the intake manifold.

  5. Object Number: 55514  Size: SH
  6. Disconnect the wiring harnesses and fuel hoses.
  7. Remove the fuel manager/filter by lifting straight up.

  8. Object Number: 55496  Size: SH
  9. Remove the sensor mounting screws.

  10. Object Number: 55517  Size: SH
  11. Remove the sensor.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 55517  Size: SH
  1. Install the new water in fuel sensor and seal.

  2. Object Number: 55496  Size: SH
  3. Install the sensor mounting screws.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the mounting screws to 2 N·m (13 lb in). Refer to

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  5. Position the fuel manager/filter to the intake manifold.

  6. Object Number: 55513  Size: SH
  7. Connect the wiring harnesses and fuel hoses.
  8. Install the mounting bolts that connect the fuel manager/filter to the intake manifold.
  9. Tighten
    Tighten the mounting bolts to 25 N·m (18 lb ft). Refer to

Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure.   10. Bleed the air from the fuel manager/filter if necessary (Refer to Fuel Feed and Fuel Return Pipe Purge Procedure .
  11. Install fuel tank filler cap.
