Removal Procedure

Important: Take care when handling the MAF. Do Not dent, puncture, or otherwise damage the screen located at the air inlet end of the MAF. Do Not touch the sensing elements or allow anything (including solvents and lubricants) to come in contact with them. A small amount of GM lubricant (P/N 99855406) may be used on the air duct only to aid in installation. Do Not drop or roughly handle the MAF.

Caution: Unless directed otherwise, the ignition and start switch must be in the OFF or LOCK position, and all electrical loads must be OFF before servicing any electrical component. Disconnect the negative battery cable to prevent an electrical spark should a tool or equipment come in contact with an exposed electrical terminal. Failure to follow these precautions may result in personal injury and/or damage to the vehicle or its components.
