Maintenance Schedule I

The services shown in this schedule up to 100,000  miles (166,000 km) should be performed after 100,000   miles (166,000 km) at the same intervals.

Footnotes

The California Air Resources Board has determined that the failure to perform this maintenance item will not nullify the emission warranty or limit recall liability prior to the completion of the vehicle useful life. We do urge, however, that ALL recommended maintenance be recorded.

For Drive Axle Service, perform the following procedures:

    • Locking Differential--Drain the fluid and refill at the first engine oil change. At subsequent oil changes, inspect the fluid level and add fluid as needed. If driving in dusty areas or towing a trailer, drain the fluid and refill every 15,000 miles (25,000 km).
    • Standard Differential--Inspect the fluid level and add fluid as needed at every oil change. If driving in dusty areas or towing a trailer, drain the fluid and refill every 15,000 miles (25,000 km).
    • More frequent lubrication may be required for heavy-duty or off-road use.

3,000 Miles (5 000 km)

    • Change the engine oil and filter (every 3  months, whichever occurs first). An Emission Control Service.
    • Lubricate the following components at every oil change (or every 6 months, whichever occurs first:
      • The front suspension
      • The ball joints
      • The steering linkage
      • The parking brake cable guides
      • The propeller shaft splines
      • The universal joints
      • The brake pedal springs and clutch pedal springs
    • Inspect rear axle fluid level and add fluid as needed. Inspect axle seals for leakage.

6,000 Miles (10 000 km)

    • Change the engine oil and filter (every 3  months, whichever occurs first). An Emission Control Service.
    • Lubricate the following components at every oil change (or every 6 months, whichever occurs first.):
      • The front suspension
      • The ball joints

    • Replace the spark plugs (4.3L Engines). An Emission Control Service.

       - Uses such as found in taxi, police, or delivery service
