1. Disconnect the negative battery cable. Refer to

   Caution: Unless directed otherwise, the ignition and start switch must be in the OFF or LOCK position, and all electrical loads must be OFF before servicing any electrical component. Disconnect the negative battery cable to prevent an electrical spark should a tool or equipment come in contact with an exposed electrical terminal. Failure to follow these precautions may result in personal injury and/or damage to the vehicle or its components.

2. Drain the coolant into an appropriate container.
3. Disconnect the low coolant sensor electrical connector.
4. Loosen the clamps and disconnect the hoses from the filler neck, the overflow tube and the return line.



5. Remove the washers and the nuts from the studs under the holding straps.
6. Remove the surge tank and the holding straps from the mount.
7. Remove the coolant level sensor from the surge tank.

1. Install the coolant level sensor in the surge tank.
2. Install the surge tank and the holding straps on the mount.
3. Secure the holding straps and the surge tank with the washers and the nuts.



4. Connect the hoses to the filler neck, the overflow tube and the return lines. Secure them with clamps.
5. Connect the low coolant sensor electrical connector.
6. Fill the radiator with coolant up to the proper level.
7. Connect the negative battery cable.

Radiator Surge Tank P72

1. Place a drain pan under the coolant recovery reservoir.
2. Remove the clamp and the hose from the surge tank.
3. Open the recovery reservoir cover.
4. Allow the reservoir to drain into the drain pan through the hose.
5. Remove the clamp and the hose from the recovery reservoir.
6. Remove the three screws, the two nuts and the recovery reservoir from the radiator support.

1. Install the recovery reservoir on the radiator support with the three screws and the two nuts.
2. Install the hose and the clamps on the recovery reservoir and the surge tank.
3. Fill the recovery reservoir with coolant to the MIN COLD line.
