Removal Procedure

    Object Number: 26599 Size: SH
  1. Drain the coolant from the engine block and the radiator until it is below the level of the thermostat. Refer to Draining, Filling, Recovery of Cooling System.
  2. Remove the nut, the bracket, and the valve from the stud.

    3. Object Number: 26597 Size: SH
  3. Remove the stud, the bolt, and the thermostat housing from the crossover.

    4. Object Number: 26595 Size: SH
  4. Remove the thermostat and the gasket from the crossover.
  5. Clean all traces of gasket material from the crossover and the thermostat housing. Be sure that no pieces of gasket material fall down into the crossover.

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 26595 Size: SH
  1. Install the gasket and the thermostat into the crossover.

    2. Object Number: 26597 Size: SH
  2. Install the thermostat housing to the crossover with the bolt and the stud.

    3. Object Number: 26599 Size: SH
  3. Install the valve, the bracket and the nut to the stud.
  4. Fill the radiator with coolant to the full level. Refer to Draining, Filling, Recovery of Cooling System.
