Turning angle is the degree of movement from a straight-ahead position of the front wheels to either an extreme right or left position. The purpose for adjusting the steering angle stop screws is to avoid tire interference or bottoming out of the steering gear.

While it is not part of a front end alignment, the turning angle does need to be checked periodically.
