Tools Required

    •  J 9625-A Pressure Test Set
    • J 39500 GM Air Conditioning Refrigerant Recovery, Recycling and Recharging System
    • J 39400 Halogen Leak Detector

  1. Install the J 9625-A onto the rear of the compressor.

    2. Object Number: 6179 Size: SH
  2. Connect the gage charging lines with the J 39500 .
  3. Pressurize the suction and the high-side of the compressor with R134a refrigerant.

    4. Object Number: 6180 Size: SH
  4. With the compressor in the horizontal position, rotate the compressor shaft several turns by hand in the normal direction of rotation.

    5. If necessary, temporarily install a nut onto the shaft. There is an M9 x 1.25 thread on the shaft.

  5. Leak test the seal area.
  6. Correct any leaks found.

    7. Object Number: 6181 Size: SH
  7. Recover the refrigerant. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging . If necessary, remove the shaft nut.
