Removal Procedure

    Object Number: 26615 Size: SH
  1. Have a suitable container ready to catch the draining coolant.
  2. Drain the coolant from the radiator until the fluid level is below the upper radiator inlet. Close the drain cock when draining is complete.
  3. Remove the outer clamps and the upper radiator hose assembly from the radiator and the engine.
  4. Remove the clamps and the rubber radiator hoses from the upper pipe section.

  5. Object Number: 26612 Size: SH
  6. Inspect the upper pipe section for evidence of corrosion.
  7. Clean the upper pipe section in order to remove any corrosion present.

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 26615 Size: SH
  1. Install the rubber radiator hoses and the upper pipe section with the clamps. Do not tighten the clamps.
  2. Install the upper radiator hose assembly to the engine and the radiator.
  3. Tighten
Tighten the hose clamps to 4 N·m (35 lb in).

Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  4. Fill the radiator with the recommended coolant. Refer to Recommended Fluids and Lubricants in General Information.
