Measure the voltage at the WHT (28) wire at the generator connector (C105).

Is the voltage equal to the specified value?

Go to Step 3

Locate and repair the open circuit in the WHT (28) wire between the generator connector and the switched circuit breaker block.

Is the repair complete?

System OK

Measure the voltage a the BLK + wire at the generator connector.

Is the voltage equal to the specified value?

B+

Go to Step 5

Locate and repair the open in the BLK + wire from the generator connector to the battery junction block.

Is the repair complete?

--

System OK

--

Measure the voltage at the WHT (302) wire at the generator connector (C105).

Is the voltage equal to the specified value?

B+

Go to Step 7

Go to Step 6

Locate and repair the open WHT (302) wire between the generator and the starter relay connector.

Is the repair complete?

--

System OK

--

  1. Connect the generator connector and the terminal.
  2. Turn off all the accessories.
  3. Run the engine at fast idle.
  4. Measure voltage at the generator terminal BLK + wire.

Does the voltmeter indicate a reading in the specified range?

13-16V

System OK

Go to Step 8

Replace the generator.

Is the repair complete?

Measure the voltage at the PNK/BLK (39) wire at the generator connector.

Does the voltmeter indicate battery voltage?

Locate and repair the open circuit in the PNK/BLK (39) wire between the generator connector and the fuse block.

Is the repair complete?

System OK

Measure the voltage at the RED (2) wire at the generator connector.

Does the voltmeter indicate the battery voltage?

Go to Step 5

Locate and repair the open in the RED (2) wire or the fusible link from the generator connector to the battery junction box.

Is the repair complete?

System OK

  1. Connect the generator connector and the terminal.
  2. Turn off all the accessories.
  3. Run the engine at fast idle.
  4. Measure the voltage at the generator terminal RED (2) wire.

Does the voltmeter indicate a reading in the specified range?

13-16V

Go to Step 6

Go to Step 7

Perform the generator bench test. Refer to Generator Assembly Bench Check.

Is the output within 15A of the rated output value?

105 amps (12V @ 80 ° F)

Replace the generator.
