DEFINITION: A momentary increase in effort when turning the wheel quickly to the left or to the right.

Check the oil level in the power steering pump.

Is the oil level low?

  1. Inspect the power steering system for leaks. Refer to Locating Fluid Leaks .
  2. Repair any leaks that you find.
  3. Fill the power steering fluid reservoir:
  4. 3.1. Stop the engine.
    3.2.  Add the power steering fluid. Refer to Fluid and Lubricant Recommendations in General Information.
    3.3. Fill the reservoir to the proper fill level shown on the dipstick.
