FRONT BRAKE CALIPER CONTACTS STEERING TIE ROD END.
EXCESSIVE BRAKE PAD AND/OR ROTOR WEAR MAY CAUSE INTERFERENCE BETWEEN CALIPER AND STEERING TIE ROD END.
INSTALL STEERING ARM SERVICE KIT, P/N 15721971.
SERVICE PROCEDURE
1. REMOVE FRONT WHEEL AND TIRE ASSEMBLY. 2. REMOVE WHEEL HUB AND ROTOR ASSEMBLY. REFER TO "WHEEL HUB AND ROTOR ASSEMBLY REPLACEMENT" IN SECTION 3C OF THE APPROPRIATE P3 CHASSIS SERVICE MANUAL. 3. REMOVE BOTTOM TWO BOLTS (ITEM 1) THAT ATTACH THE STEERING KNUCKLE (ITEM 2) TO THE STEERING CONTROL ARM (ITEM 3). 4. INSERT STEERING ARM SPACER (P/N 15721947 - ITEM 4) FROM SERVICE KIT BETWEEN STEERING KNUCKLE (ITEM 2) AND STEERING ARM (ITEM 3).
5. ATTACH STEERING ARM SPACER BETWEEN THE STEERING KNUCKLE AND STEERING ARM USING TWO BOLTS (P/N 9428600 - ITEM 1), TWO NUTS (P/N 9422307 - ITEM 5) AND TWO WASHERS (P/N 2436168 - ITEM 6) FROM SERVICE KIT. TORQUE BOLTS TO 312 N.M (230 LB FT). 6. REMOVE STEERING STOP BOLT FROM STEERING KNUCKLE. 7. REMOVE STEERING STOP NUT FROM STEERING KNUCKLE. 8. INSTALL NEW JAM NUT (P/N 272123) FROM SERVICE KIT ONTO STEERING KNUCKE STOP BOLT. 9. INSTALL NEW STEERING STOP BOLT (P/N 3712568) FROM SERVICE KIT INTO JAM NUT AND STEERING KNUCKLE. 10. TURN STEERING WHEEL TO A FULL TURN AND ADJUST STOP NUT UNTIL IT CONTACTS THE STEERING STOP ON THE I-BEAM AXLE. 11. REINSTALL WHEEL HUB AND ROTOR ASSEMBLY. REFER TO WHEEL HUB AND ROTOR ASSEMBLY REPLACEMENT IN SECTION 3C OF THE APPROPRIATE P3 CHASSIS SERVICE MANUAL. 12. ATTACH WHEEL AND TIRE ASSEMBLY REFERRING TO "INSTALLING THE TIRE AND WHEEL ASSEMBLY" IN SECTION 3E OF THE APPROPRIATE P3 CHASSIS SERVICE MANUAL. 13. REPEAT ABOVE STEPS ON OPPOSITE SIDE WHEEL. 14. ALIGN FRONT WHEELS REFERRING TO "ALIGNMENT ADJUSTMENTS" IN SECTION 3A OF THE APPROPRIATE P3 CHASSIS SERVICE MANUAL.
