THIS BULLETIN IS BEING REVISED TO CANCEL THE STANADYNE INJECTION PUMP EXCHANGE PROGRAM AND TO NOTIFY ALL GM DEALERS THAT SERVICE BULLETIN #756303 (SECTION 6E-ENGINE FUEL AND EMISSION) IS CANCELLED EFFECTIVE FEBRUARY 01, 1998, AND SHOULD BE DISCARDED. WARRANTY POLICY G.M. CANADA ONLY
ELECTRONIC AND MECHANICAL INJECTION PUMPS
THE EXCHANGE PROGRAM LISTED IN SERVICE BULLETIN #75-63-03 FOR DIESEL FUEL INJECTION PUMPS HAS ENDED AND THE BULLETIN SHOULD BE DISCARDED.
THE STANADYNE FUEL INJECTION PUMP CONTINUES TO BE COVERED FOR 5 YEARS AND/OR 160,000KMS UNDER THE TERMS OF THE 6.5L GM DIESEL ENGINE WARRANTY.
A TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE CASE (TAC CASE) IS NO LONGER REQUIRED TO REMOVE AN INJECTION PUMP FOR FIX WHAT FAILED REPAIRS.
A TAC CASE IS REQUIRED WHEN PERFORMING RECALL CAMPAIGN 4N26, REPLACING A "BLACK TAG" PUMP WITH A "BLUE TAG" PUMP. NOTE: THIS IS THE ONLY SITUATION WHEN A TAC CASE IS REQUIRED.
STANADYNE DEALER WILL SUPPLY AN EXCHANGE "BLUE TAG" PUMP FOR A "BLACK TAG" PUMP ON A "NO CHARGE" BASIS WHEN A GM DEALER SUBMITS A REQUEST FOR WARRANTY FORM GMP71 CLEARLY MARKED "CAMPAIGN 4N26". THERE IS NO TIME OR MILEAGE LIMITATION ON CAMPAIGN 4N26
DURING THE 5 YEAR/160,000KM WARRANTY PERIOD, INJECTION PUMPS WILL BE REPAIRED ON A "FIX WHAT FAILED" BASIS.
STANADYNE DEALER WILL TEST THE INJECTION PUMP, AND REPAIR ANY DEFECT FOUND.
STANADYNE DEALER WILL REPAIR VERIFIED FAILURES UNDER STANADYNE WARRANTY FOR THE FIRST 3 YEARS/80,000KMS ON A "NO CHARGE BASIS"
STANADYNE DEALERS WILL NO LONGER UPGRADE PUMPS DURING WARRANTY REPAIRS AND WILL INVOICE THE GM DEALER FOR ANY PUMP UPGRADE REQUESTED BY A GM DEALER
STANADYNE DEALER WILL INVOICE GM DEALER FOR ALL PUMP REPAIRS BEYOND 3 YEARS/80,000KMS.
THE STANADYNE DEALER WILL CHARGE THE GM DEALER FOR A PUMP TEST AS RECEIVED WHEN NO TROUBLE FOUND (NTF)
REPLACEMENT OF SUSPECT COMPONENTS ON NTF PUMPS IS CONSIDERED AN UPGRADE TO THE PUMP AND REQUIRES "PRIOR" AUTHORIZATION FROM THE DSM, AND ALL SUCH UPGRADES WILL BE INVOICED TO THE GM DEALER BY THE STANADYNE DEALER.
THE STANADYNE DEALER WILL REQUIRE A PROPERLY COMPLETED COPY OF THE DIESEL WORKSHEET(FIG 1 OR 3) AND A PROPERLY COMPLETED COPY OF THE REQUEST FOR WARRANTY FORM (GMP71 FIG 2), FOR ALL IN WARRANTY INJECTION PUMP REPAIRS.
GM SERVICE DEALERS ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR SHIPPING COSTS FOR PUMPS TO AND FROM THE STANADYNE DEALER.
INJECTION PUMP FAILURES AS A RESULT OF FUEL CONTAMINATION SUCH AS WATER OR GASOLINE ARE NOT COVERED UNDER EITHER STANADYNE OR GM WARRANTY.
WARRANTY REPAIR CLAIMS FORMS GMP71 ARE AVAILABLE FROM DGN MARKETING DIESEL DIAGNOSTIC FORMS ARE ATTACHED TO THIS BULLETIN AND CAN BE COPIED FOR FUTURE USE.
