The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in the PI.
Condition/Concern:
Some customers may comment on a whining-type noise that is audible in the vehicles passenger compartment. This noise can typically be heard when the vehicle is idling and may vary in pitch as engine RPM is increased.
The power steering pump pulley may be positioned too far inboard on the power steering pump.
Recommendation/Instructions:
Bulletin number 03-06-01-011 applies to the 2005 model year vehicles.
Complete current the SI diagnostics for Drive Belt Squeal.
If the diagnostics are inconclusive, complete the repair information found in Bulletin 03-06-01-011.
Note: This PI is to inform dealers that Bulletin 03-06-01-011 applies to the 2005 model year and will be deleted when the Bulletin is updated.
Please follow this diagnosis process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
