Brake Pedal Position Sensor Replacement 5.3L w/RPO HP2

Important: Once the brake pedal position (BPP) sensor bolt is removed for any reason, a new 4 mm bolt, with fresh LOCTITE™ will need to be installed.

1. Remove the BPP sensor bolt (1).



2. Remove the BPP sensor (2) from the mounting bracket.
3. Disconnect the BPP sensor electrical connector (1).
4. Remove the BPP sensor (2) from the vehicle.

1. Connect the BPP sensor (2) electrical connector (1).



2. Align the BPP sensor (1) with the actuation arm (2) on the brake pedal and the BPP sensor mounting bracket.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.




3. Install a new 4 mm bolt (1), with LOCTITE™ , to the BPP sensor.

Tighten
Tighten the bolt to 9 N·m (80 lb in).

4. Calibrate the BPP sensor. Refer to Brake Pedal Position Sensor Calibration Description and Operation .
