FRONT STABILIZER BAR INSULATORS LOOSE OR MISSING

MODELS: 1985-87 C AND R 1,2,3 MODELS EQUIPPED WITH RPO F59 FRONT SUSPENSION

Some C and R model trucks with loose or missing front stabilizer bar insulators may produce a noticeable noise or rattle as the vehicles are driven. On those vehicles found missing the outside insulators, a new nonsplit insulator should be installed at the lower control arm attachment point of the stabilizer bar. The new nonsplit insulator, P/N 3995334, requires retaining clamp P/N 3978931 when installed. The new nonsplit insulator should be used whenever the outside insulators are replaced. The center stabilizer attachments continue to use the split insulators called out in the parts book.

General Motors bulletins are intended for use by professional technicians, not a "do-it-yourselfer". They are written to inform those technicians of conditions that may occur on some vehicles, or to provide information that could assist in the proper service of a vehicle. Properly trained technicians have the equipment, tools, safety instructions and know-how to do a job properly and safely. If a condition is described, do not assume that the bulletin applies to your vehicle, or that your vehicle will have that condition. See a General Motors dealer servicing your brand of General Motors vehicle for information on whether your vehicle may benefit from the information.
